EXPERIENCE MATTERS

JOSEPH P. APPELT
Attorney at Law, Municipal Court Judge
Candidate for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3
I have made San Antonio my home for over 40 years, graduating from Antonian and studying at Texas A&M and UTSA, graduating from UTSA with a B.B.A. in Accounting. After working as an accountant, I found my passion, the Law. I earned my law degree from St. Mary’s Law School and after 2 years in the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office I opened my own law practice.
I have been practicing law for 28 years, litigating many different types of cases including breach of contract, criminal law, family law, landlord/tenant issues, evictions, and debt collection. I also have experience taking cases before the Courts of Appeals and the Texas Supreme Court. In addition I am a Municipal Court Judge for the last 8 years and counting, managing Class C Misdemeanor dockets and presiding over jury and non-jury trials.
I am married to Gladys and together we have a son who just turned 13 and a daughter who is going on 4 years old.
I am active in the Antonian Alumni Association, St. Luke Men’s Club, have worked with fundraisers for Big Brothers and Sisters as well as the Special Olympics. I have volunteered and assisted Habitat for Humanity. Also, I am a member of the Legal Advisory Board for Catholic Charities.
Ok, what a district judge has is this:
“Please be aware that political contributions are not “tax exempt” and the campaign cannot accept contributions from a corporation”
